For Today...

For Today, The Simple Woman's Daybook
Head on over to The Simple Woman's Daybook and find out how to participate!
Outside my window...
dark! I'm up too late again!
I am thinking...about all the artful ideas I jotted down while at the book store tonight. Inspired!
I am thankful for...student financial aid. Rob only had to cover $350ish out of pocket for his first term of school!
From the learning rooms...well, Rob had orientation today! He's returning to school and I am SO proud of him!
From the kitchen...I'm planning to try the recipe I saw Martha Stewart make today, then found in her magazine...Dessert Perogi!
I am wearing...jeans and a gray tee...standard me.
I am creating...well, the computer issue is keeping me from my dig-scrap passion, so I believe I'll try collage this week. I also have a secret fabric craft I am longing to try!
I am going...to go crazy if this computer issue doesn't get better soon!
I am reading..."I Feel Bad About My Neck and Other Thoughts on Being a Woman" by Nora Ephron. Run to the nearest book store and get it...hilarious!
I am hoping...I can use collage to shake this bout of the blues I've been dealing with lately.
I am hearing...Jay Leno's Headlines. I miss Conan, but I like having Jay back too...is that so wrong?!
Around the house...
a million things I need to do, of course.
One of my favorite things...a good used book sale! We stopped by the North East Library Saturday and got 23 (that's right, you heard me!) books for $5! I must explain, I could have gotten them ALL for $1...it was a bag sale ($1=all-you-can-fit-in-a-bag) but since the funds benefit the local library, I gave them all the cash I had...$5! This sale is where I got my current read!
A few plans for the rest of the week: odds and ends shopping while Rob attends his orientation, then getting used to EARLY mornings sending him out to his studies. Did I mention how proud I am of my husband? :-)
Here is picture for thought I am sharing...

April Desktop Freebie...Finally!!!

Well, even though it is not 100%, I got enough to work on this computer to make a desktop! I tell you what, if I even get an extra bit of money, the first thing I want to do is my a decent computer!!! Anyone want to donate? Ha! Just kidding...

I hope you enjoy the desktop...I enjoyed making it, especially after a lengthy absence from scrapping! Since I make these desktops for my personal computer screen, the resolution is 1280x1024. Please leave a comment with what your resolution is on your desktop and I'll see what the most popular sizes are and try to keep that in mind in the future!

This desktop was made with Raspberry Road Designs Country Sunshine Add-on Kit, and a calendar from Sueli Colbert Designs. The rabbit, I downloaded and altered, but there wasn't any designer info with it, so I have no idea who it's from! If I figure it out, I'll post a comment later! I hope you enjoy this little taste of spring for your desktop!

Thanks again for visiting! Hopefully I'll get these computer bugs ironed out and scrap more soon!!!

Hopefully...

Well, I haven't been able to create much in the past week or two because my computer finally died. Thank goodness we have Dad's here...but I have to install my PSE7 and move my external drive, so...no work has been done because I can't find the PSE7 disk. It's safely packed up in one of these boxes!
Hopefully, I will find it soon and get to making the April desktop and some more freebies! I just wanted to let everyone know!  Well, off to dig in some boxes!

For Today...March 16th

FOR TODAY...
Outside my window...it is dark and I am up too late, but I think Spring is on the way!

I am thinking...about the ocean. It really is a healing force for me.

I am thankful for...another day to start over.

I am wearing...jeans and a tee...and ankle socks
I am remembering...that, though I may feel differently about myself, there are people who think I'm pretty great for some reason. I am so grateful for those people.

I am creating...a birthday card for my father-in-law.
I am going... to bed!
I am reading...Leave the Building Quickly by Cynthia Kaplan...run!go! buy it now! while you're there, get her other book Why I'm Like This!

I am hoping...that this low will hit an upswing...soon

On my mind...my grandmother and sister. I hope they are enjoying Florida and have a safe trip home!
Noticing that... the more you want the dog to leave you alone, the more said dog wants to get in your face.
Pondering these words...may you always have sand in your shoes and shells in your pockets.

From the kitchen...well, I suppose I should be planning a birthday cake...chocolate maybe.

Around the house...a snoring husband and dog. Lord help me!

One of my favorite things...walking barefoot on the beach just at the point where the water hits dry sand.

A few plans for the rest of the week: make the birthday card, and cake...stick to my exercising, and try to be more positive.
A few picture thoughts to share... I have been thinking a lot about the ocean lately and read about Sanibel Island, FL. I am now obsessed with thoughts of going! Here are some photos I found online from others' trips to Sanibel...

For Today...The Simple Woman's Daybook

Outside my window... late afternoon with melting snow...our first 50 degree day in a while!
I am thinking... being a southern girl in PA causes mixed emotions. I love seeing it snow, but I have spring fever...how's that for odd?!
I am thankful for... my husband...he spoils me :-)
From the kitchen...well, nothing yet, I have no idea what to make for dinner!
I am wearing...comfy yoga pants, slouchy tee, and big fluffy slippers.
I am creating... just finished a page for a digital scrapbook contest. I hope to get my work published!
I am going... to try to see myself through the eyes of those who love me...they see something far better than I do.
I am reading... Lunch at the Piccadilly by Clyde Edgerton
I am hoping... I can jump start my exercise mojo again.
I am hearing... the evening news. I should probably listen to something more positive, huh?
Around the house... a lazy dog downstairs, a lazy cat upstairs, and still too many moving boxes to unpack!
One of my favorite things... mermaids!
A few plans for the rest of the week... I'd like to finish up the book I am reading, empty a few more moving boxes, and maybe get a few more pages in my personal scrapbooks finished.
A picture for today:
one of my favorite things! I saw this at the local flower shop, The Flower Cart.

If you want to participate in the Daybook, please head on over to The Simple Woman's Daybook site and join in!

First St. Patrick's Day Freebie!

I have finally taken the time to sit down and prepare another freebie! I'm a little slow with the original art because I am much better at using others' designs to make pages than making page elements myself! These were fun to make though! I hope you can use them...you might recognize them from the March Desktop freebie! Thanks for visiting my blog...enjoy!

For Today...and other thoughts!

outside my window... 20℉, a dark snowy wonderland.
i am thinking... about everything I need to do tomorrow.
i am thankful for...encouraging friends!
i am wearing... my jammies and slippers.
i am remembering... advice given to me today...let it go, they didn't know any better!
i am going... to recommit to my exercise program...again.
i am currently reading... Lunch at the Piccadilly by Clyde Edgerton (great so far!)
i am hoping... to steadily get this house in order!
on my mind...what do start working on first!
noticing that... no matter how much I dread starting a chore, I always feel so accomplished after it's completed!
pondering these words... Love is the condition in which the happiness of another person is essential to your own. -Robert Heinlein
from the kitchen... well, in the morning...AppleJacks!
around the house... a rotten snoring dog, cat, AND husband.
one of my favorite things... daisies.
i'm creating... a new desktop to share.
a few plans for the rest of the week... scrapping, cleaning, exercising...not necessarily in that order!
one picture to share...
ZZZZ Pictures, Images and Photos

To participate in For Today, head over to The Simple Woman's Daybook every Monday!

Isn't that a fun thing? I love that The Simple Woman does that every Monday. You can go there and read hundreds of others' thoughts for the day!

Ok, I finally got enough of my boxes unpacked and put away, and now...you can see the floor in the living room! I must say, I feel like I have put this blog on the back burner because of moving and I did not want to do that. On the other hand, the clutter has been driving me absolutely mad. And, when I am that crazy, I can't think, let alone design or write!

SO...no more excuses! The living room is more than a hall of boxes now, I can resume my exercise routine, and maybe I can think clearly enough to write! First things first...a new desktop for March has to be made! In the next day or two, I'll get back to posting recipes freebies, and maybe even a few digi scrapping goodies I made myself! Thanks to everyone for hanging in there with me through the moving roller coaster! Hopefully I can start having life adventures instead of constant unpacking!
